| KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Ex-Prime Minister and senior leader of UCPN (Maoist) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that his failure to extend the tenure of Constituent Assembly was a blunder. The erstwhile Prime Minister, on his facebook page, wrote that CA dissolution was also a reason behind his party´s humiliating defeat in the second Constituent Assembly election. "I was ready to risk taking the blame and propose extending the tenure of CA, after announcing state of emergency - as the last resort for continuation of CA - on May 27, 2012. I made my thoughts public as well. But I could not sustain opposition, from other parties as well as my own party members, and backed out. I humbly accept that it proved to be the biggest mistake my life." In his facebook status, Dr Bhattarai has also confessed that his party could not become and did not appear any different from other parties, despite their plans of establishing the best of state administration, society and culture. Hinting towards the election results, Bhattarai has added that people did not want to risk a new force, and hence preferred the older forces, which again are no good. He has expressed commitments on national independence, inclusive democracy, inclusive patriotism and inclusive development. He has also hinted towards cooperation with other people and organization (than his own party), who are like minded, in future. |
